Republic of San Marino | 4-14 September


Courses of San Marino International Music Summer Courses – Strings Concert Academy are open to violinists, violists, cellists and bassists of any nationality without any age limits.



  • From the 4th till the 14th of September 2016;
  • The arrival date at San Marino is 3/09/2016*
  • The departure date is 15/09/2016*

* if not otherwise agreed.



  • A minimum of 7 applicants*;
  • The maximum number of pupils is at the discretion of each professor.

  • 5 lessons of 60 minutes each*;
  • Participation in one (or more) solo or chamber (duo vln/piano) performances. In exceptional cases and at the request of the teacher, student may be offered a recital.
  • 2 lessons / rehearsals of 60 min. each for the preparation of the following concerts;
  • Participation in at least one of the chamber group (from trio and up) productions with one of the professors.
  • The right to participate in the internal competition.

2) INSCRIPTION PROCEDURE. Each student must:

  • Fill out the online registration form;
  • Attach an artistic CV and listing academic qualifications (1,500 characters including spaces);
  • Attach a high-definition photo (min. 300 dpi and max 1Mb in size);
  • Attach a list of works that he/she could perform as soloist, including sonatas;
  • Each teacher will assess applications received on the basis of CV and will draw up a merit. In some cases, a professor may ask the links to the recent recordings of applicants.
  • After receiving confirmation of having being selected, the student must pay the entry fee together with the course fee;
  • Only after payment is the student considered to be duly registered;
  • In the case of lack of payment, the student with the second highest score will be selected;
  • One can attend more courses
  • It is possible to attend the course as Strings Quartet (teacher: Antonello Farulli)



  • All lessons are open to the public;
  • Lessons will be well distributed throughout the courses;
  • The lesson’s schedule will be arranged basing on availability of the professors;
  • So as the public performances (concerts) are considered as an integral part of the didactic process, no compensation is provided for students performers.
  • The best students of the course will be given the opportunity to perform in a full concert-recital.



  • The competition is open to the public;
  • Participation to the competition is free;
  • The jury is made up of the Academy’s faculty;
  • The max. number of participants is limited to 24;
  • The number of participants will be equally distributed between the various classes;
  • Every teacher may present two or more candidates at his/her sole discretion;
  • The program for 2016 will focused on works for solo instrument (unaccompanied).
  • Duration of the execution is limited to 17 min.;
  • The competition consists of two rounds, the first round with 24 participants and the final with 6.
  • The prizes of the winners will be the following: 1st prize € 800, 2nd prize € 400, 3rd prize € 200, the other finalists will receive a diploma of merit;
  • The winners of the competition will also be offered concerts.


– The overall cost of the course as a soloist is € 700 including the cost of registration.
– The overall cost of the course as a strings quartet is € 1.000 including the cost of registration.



  • The registration fee is 150 Euros as auditor for the entire period for all courses;
  • 15 EUR daily cost for a single course;
  • The inscription as auditor students can be made at the secretariat of San Marino International Music Summer Courses during the courses.
  • The listening students are not allowed to write in your resume to be or have been students of the Academy.



  • A wide network of hotels / B & Bs / restaurants with special prices will be available to students and listed on the Academy’s website;
