About Alessandro Tardino

Alessandro Tardino was born in 1987. Following his parents’ into a life of music, he began his musical studies at the Conservatory of Frosinone with the flautist Pietro Romano, and the pianist Cecilia De Dominicis. At fifteen he received full marks in both instruments for his high school diploma and gave his debut in the orchestra, both as a flautist and as solo pianist – performing the Andante Spianato and Grande Polonaise Brillante Chopin. In 2006 he graduated in piano with honors, receiving full marks and an honorable mention. He was awarded the prize for the best graduate of the year for the Lazio Region by the “Associazione Concertistica Romana”.

Alessandro Tardino was born in 1987. Following his parents’ into a life of music, he began his musical studies at the Conservatory of Frosinone with the flautist Pietro Romano, and the pianist Cecilia De Dominicis. At fifteen he received full marks in both instruments for his high school diploma and gave his debut in the orchestra, both as a flautist and as solo pianist – performing the Andante Spianato and Grande Polonaise Brillante Chopin.

In 2006 he graduated in piano with honors, receiving full marks and an honorable mention. He was awarded the prize for the best graduate of the year for the Lazio Region by the “Associazione Concertistica Romana”.

He furthered his studies at the International Piano Academy of Imola “Incontri col Maestro” where, from 2003, he studied with Franco Scala, Michelle Dalberto and Enrico Pace. He also attended master classes with Robert Levin, Joaquin Soriano, Vovka Ashkenazy, Zoltan Kocsis, Andrea Lucchesini Oleg Marshev, Yang Jun and Roberto Cappello. In 2013 he obtained his academic diploma.

Alessandro participated in the concert season “Les Semaines Musicales” in Crans-Montana in Switzerland both as a soloist, and in chamber group formations (trio with Eric Crambes and Henri Demarquette, and duo with Michelle Dalberto).

Among Alessandro’s engagements, of particular note are his participation in the festival “Bologna is revealed” in the event “Aimez vous Cage?” with Bruno Canino, Antonio Ballista and Philipe Daverio, and his performance with the Orchestra Sinfonica di Milano Guiseppe Verdi at the Auditorium di Milano as part of the exhibition of the complete works of Chopin (concert recorded and broadcast by Mediaset).

He has performed at festivals such as “MITO Settembre Musica” and the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino and given recitals in major venues including the Teatro Manzoni, Teatro Litta, the Gallery of Modern Art in Milan, the Accademia Filarmonica di Verona, the Teatro Comunale, the Teatro Olimpico in Vicenza, the Philharmonic Academy of Bologna, the Piccolo Teatro Comunale in Florence, the Teatro Alighieri in Ravenna,and the Victoria Theatre in Turin.

In 2011 he performed in the “Bau Art Basel” atelier of Basel.
He plays chamber music with the pianist André Gallo and violinists Stefano Delle Donne, Oleksandr Semchuk and Ksenia Milyavskaya.

In 2012 he won the chamber music competition “Giulio Rospigliosi” in a duo with Stefano Delle Donne. In the same year, as a soloist, he won the “Concours International de Piano de Lyon” and he performed in the “Salle Molière” of Lyon and in the auditorium “George Brassens” in Saint Germain au Mont d’Or.

In 2014 Alessandro Tardino and Stefano Delle Donne gave the debut performance of “Sonata So(g)nante”, which was dedicated to the two artists by the composer Andrea Portera.

Since last summer Alessandro Tardino has been collaborating with violinist Pierre Amoyal accompanying his students at the summer course at the Mozarteum in Salzburg. He also performs as a chamber musician in the Grosse Saal of the Mozarteum in Salzburg Festival.
