About Mari Fujino

Mari has worked as a piano accompanist in master classes and music courses in Italy and in the United States, taught by renowned teachers. She has also lent her talents to the two-year experimental courses of higher education, held at the “Orazio Vecchi” institute in Modena, and for the courses taught by the School of Music in Fiesole, the Graduate School of Portogruaro, in addition to constant collaboration with the Haydn Orchestra of Bolzano. Mari Fujino has a busy concert schedule as a soloist and in various chamber ensembles, as well as collaborating with various instrumentalists and singers.

Mari Fujino was born in Ishikawa, Japan, where at the age of three she began studying piano. She graduated from the University of Music in Tokyo “TO-HO” under the guidance of Izumi Komoriya in 1998, and in the same year moved to Italy.

In 2002 under the guidance of Maestro Carlo Mazzoli, Mari graduated from the Conservatory “GB Martini” of Bologna with honours, receiving full marks and an honourable mention and in 2003 graduated from the three-year course of Chamber Music at the International Piano Academy of Imola under the guidance of Maestro Pier Narciso Masi. During her studies, Mari attended training seminars held by the pianists Arnaldo Cohen, Tomislav Bainov, Karl-Heinz Kämmerling, and studied with Maestro Pier Narciso Masi and Maestro Massimo Blacks. She was selected to win the “Magone Award” scholarship, and has been awarded several prizes at national and international competitions including: second prize for chamber music in the piano competition of Rome; first prize at the international competition of Minerbio and the national competition in Cento; second prize in Racconigi and at the “800 Festival” in Saludecio, the International Prize “Contessa Tina Orsi Anguissola Scotti” for chamber music in Val Tidone, the second prize “Rovere d’Oro” in Imperia, and the second prize in the national competition of Arezzo.

Mari Fujino has played Beethoven’s fourth concerto as soloist with the orchestra of the Teatro Comunale di Bologna in a concert open to top students sponsored and organized by the Conservatory of Bologna “GB Martini” and has performed the Beethoven triple concerto op. 56, with the orchestra Amilcare Zanella of Piacenza. She has also played at the Festival of Portogruaro, the chamber music festival in Mantua and at the Prometeo festival, performing with the Prometeo quartet itself
