Corso di composizione strumentale, vocale o elettronica
Progetto
Il corso di composizione è diviso in due periodi: uno di cinque giorni a fine giugno, l’altro di sei giorni la prima settimana di agosto per un totale di 11 giorni di lezione.
Nel primo periodo, che si può seguire anche online, gli studenti dovranno iniziare oppure continuare un brano già cominciato che verrà eseguito in concerto alla fine del secondo periodo. I partecipanti sono caldamente invitati a comporre brani per gli strumenti e/o le voci disponibili fra i corsi del New Music Project.
Nel secondo periodo gli studenti potranno sottoporre e sperimentare le proprie partiture con gli allievi e i docenti dei corsi di strumento del New Music Project e apportare i ritocchi necessari. Successivamente gli studenti di composizione dovranno finalizzare i brani (comprese le parti se necessario) per consentire agli allievi strumentisti la loro esecuzione al concerto finale.
Il mese che intercorre fra i due periodi potrà essere utilizzato dagli studenti per lavorare al proprio brano.
Gli studenti parteciperanno in modo attivo alle prove dei propri brani e verranno istruiti su come redigere in modo esaustivo le proprie partiture.
Brano da comporre
I brani potranno essere per strumento solo o piccolo ensemble cameristico. È possibile comporre un brano per dispositivi elettronici che vanno concordati preventivamente col docente.
I brani non dovrebbero avere una durata superiore a di 7-8 minuti, eventuali eccezioni devono essere concordate col docente.
Focus su Ligeti
In collaborazione col corso di pianoforte del M° Corazziari, dedicato alla musica di György Ligeti, gli studenti di composizione che lo desiderano potranno lavorare a brani basati su stimoli provenienti dal pensiero compositivo di Ligeti.
Presentazioni
Il docente, inoltre, terrà delle presentazioni su argomenti riguardanti la composizione e la musica in generale esaminando opere proprie e di altri autori.
Compositore invitato 2023: Mauro Lanza
Ogni anno il corso di composizione invita per due giorni un altro compositore a illustrare il proprio lavoro ed esaminare brevemente il lavoro degli studenti del corso di composizione. Il compositore invitato del 2023 sarà Mauro Lanza che verrà nei due giorni immediatamente precedenti l’inizio del secondo periodo del corso di composizione.
Composition course for instruments, voices or electronics
Project
The composition course is divided into two periods: one of five days at the end of June, the other of six days in the first week of August for a total of 11 days.
In the first period, which can also be followed online, students are expected to begin or continue an already started piece that will be performed in concert at the end of the second period. Participants are strongly encouraged to compose pieces for the instruments and/or voices available from the New Music Project courses.
In the second period, students will be able to submit and experiment their scores with the students and teachers of the New Music Project and make any necessary adjustments. Afterwards, the composition students will have to finalize the pieces (including parts if necessary) so that the student of the instrumental courses can perform them at the final concert.
In the month between the first and second period, the students are supposed to work on their pieces.
Students will actively participate in the rehearsal of their pieces and will be instructed on how to finalize their scores thoroughly.
Piece to be composed
The pieces may be for solo instrument or small chamber ensemble. It is possible to write pieces for electronic devices, which must be agreed upon in advance with the teacher.
The pieces should not be longer than 7-8 minutes, exceptions must be agreed with the teacher.
Focus on Ligeti
In collaboration with M° Corazziari’s piano course, devoted to the music of György Ligeti, composition students, who wish to do so, can work on piano pieces based on stimuli from Ligeti’s compositional thought.
Lectures
The teacher will also give lectures on topics relating to composition and music in general by examining his own and other composers’ works.
Invited composer 2023: Mauro Lanza
Each year, the composition course invites another composer for two days to illustrate his or her work and to briefly examine the works of the composition students. In 2023, the invited composer will be Mauro Lanza, who will be teaching two days before the start of the second period of the composition course.
